“We try to impress locals with our flavors,” says Leon Mazairac, Executive Chef at Elize Restaurant in Downtown. Through these unprecedented times, this Dutch-centered kitchen is offering a limited menu that captures in-season flavors. Tables are socially-distanced and servers frequently sanitize while wearing masks.

Elize is a gastronomic restaurant that makes fine dining more accessible through an elevated environment that still feels relaxed. Some European-style dishes hold an Indo flare when dining at their Chef’s Table, alongside the kitchen. Take a sight of our bites!

🍹 Cocktails

These drinks bring a refreshing summer vibe with a subtly sweet taste, garnished with rosemary for freshness. The flavors vary when you sip while lifting the straw, allowing you to taste the gradient of the liqueur. Mixing makes for a slightly sweet sip!

🥚 Dutch Spicy Egg

The egg is spiced with an Indo flare, utilizing sambal. Additional warmth is added with the ras el hanout, balanced by mayo. The egg is marinated in soy sauce, for additional salt in each bite.

🍉 Watermelon Salmon

This dish is a marinated medley of cubed salmon and watermelon. Though some restaurants utilize watermelon to make a salmon dish appear more full, Elize spotlights the freshness of the watermelon to emphasize the summer flare. The seaweed crisp adds a crunch of texture to the subtly acidic bites.

🥦 Cauliflower

This dish features cauliflower tossed with unripe mango, adding acidity to an earthy taste. Each bite holds a freshness that’s emphasized by the tang of the dotted mustard sauce.

🐟 Bass

The seabass is served on the skin, fully cooked while maintaining a tender texture. The mustard sauce holds a tang of acidity, accompanied by fried vegetables with a slightly savory taste.

🍨 Dessert

The last dish features a Buttercook, which is a traditional Dutch cake with a buttery exterior and crumbly texture. The cake is served alongside ice cream for a warm-cold sensation, topped with fresh strawberry. The cocktails complimented the dessert with a warm sweetness.

Though many small, local farmers have ceased sales through these unprecedented times, Elize manages to utilize in-season produce for some of their Chef’s Table dishes. Their Wine Down Wednesday is hosted with socially-distanced tables, featuring bottomless drinks and three dish options for $28. Bottomless drink choices include white and Rosé wines, alongside two cocktail options. Though you won’t be able to mingle with other goers through social-distancing guidelines, you can still enjoy a live experience with the party you arrive with.

Elize Restaurant serves aesthetic food and drinks with deeper flavors for people breezing by downtown. Feel summertime fine with their current menu!
